Untitled Untitled Name: 422 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3
Location
: Blk 422 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 #01-2508 Singapore 560422
Types of Stalls: Mixed Veg Rice, Beverages, Vegetarian (Three Treasures / San Bao 三宝斋素食), Western (Mai Gong Bo Jio Bistro), Indian Muslim (KRS INdian Muslim), Bread (Dough Re Mi), Seafood (Hai Zhong Bao)
TVs: Analogue x 2. Ah! The old fashioned scattering of snow / analogue noise over a distractingly inaudible K-drama serial. I guess these TVs are still good until 2019, when they finally turn off the Analogue signals?
Decorative Pineapples: x 3
Decor: Chintzy Chinified Void Deck, dressed up with embroidered rose fabric covers and wooden grid lampshades to try to give it an elegant old "Chinese restaurant" feel. But strictly the 'budget premium' or 'premium economy' version of a stately old Chinese restaurant. This place has ambitions. But it is but a HDB Coffeeshop. There is an endearing but very roughly painted mural visible on a nearby wall that touts the need to fight against Dengue. That sort of heartwarming stuff.
Beer ladies: None
Crowds/Ambiance This one is a mixed bag. In the evenings we observed family groups eating at the Hai Zhong Bao - it is clearly a place you could take your parents out for dinner to - but on the other end there are young adults hanging out to smoke and play phone games, single people watching youtube on their phones, office workers eating together, and old people gathering to chat over tea/coffee. It is not really a beer spot as there are no beer ladies and there are a ton of other competing coffeeshops in the vicinity which have a plethora of beer ladies pushing the booze.
